Fall Festivals and Pumpkin Time

We have several fall events on the calendar this month- mostly this week. We went to "Candypalooza" at Allie's MDO on Wednesday. It's basically a trunk-or-treat but they did also have popcorn and food. The kids had a good time.

Tonight we went to the huge fall festival we went to last year with all.the.things. It was cool, but not freezing cold like last year. We jumped in the face painting and balloon animal lines first knowing how long they get. Then we had some hot dogs- still missed out on the chili eventhough it was early then did a few other activities- pony rides and bounce houses, had s'mores until it was time for trunk or treat.

Tonight when we got home, we finally carved our pumpkin. Normally the kids each paint a pumpkin for Halloween, but this year Daniel found a huge one and wanted to carve it. We didn't want to do so too early and risk it rotting out, but we may have waited a little long. Either way, kids loved it.

Jake's faces throughout the whole digging-out-pumpkin-guts part are classic. This was probably their first time doing this- like I said, we normally paint pumpkins.

He's ready to go to the front porch!
