Thankful Thursday- little patient

Last week my neice was hospitalized and then had surgery to remove her appendix. I'm thankful the surgery went well, I was able to visit her in the hospital and she's recovering well. Since she was admitted to Vanderbilt, I wanted to get up there not only to see her but to support my sister- having a child in the hospital, at any age, is not fun or easy. In fact, it's hard. And exhausting. But God gives us the strength and that's just what he did for my sister! He also gave me a window to drive up and see them- these are the times I dislike living out of town the most- I can't always pick up and leave. Tuesday I dropped Will off, went to therapy with Maggie, had some lunch, picked Will up from school and drove to TN. I was finally there! By this time, she had already been out of surgery several days, but I was still happy and fortunate to show my support. It was a quick trip- we left yesterday afternoon- but she was discharged and able to see Will and Maggie before we left town! I'm also thankful to have a wonderful hubby anxiously awaiting our return (he was in Houston last week, so he was grateful for the quick trip).
