Fall Break Beach Trip part 1

Sat, Sept. 30th - Mon, Oct. 2nd

Earlier this year, friends of ours had the idea to take a LifeGroup beach trip over fall break. I'm all about trips and we didn't have anything scheduled for fall, so I signed up. We got a great rate on a 3 bedroom condo and because of all the space, were able to share with another family making it even more affordable!

After a soccer game and birthday party for Daniel's Granny, we hit the road Sat, 9/30 about 2:30pm and arrived in Florida around 10pm. We made pretty good time- about 7.5hrs with 2 stops. Others hit really bad traffic earlier in the day. The place was gorgeous! We talked with a few friends that weren't already in bed, unloaded and hit the hay to rest up for our week!

Jake & Allie have never been to the beach and Maggie was not quite 2 last time we went so this was very exciting. I'll say the only downside was about 100 steps between our condo and the beach so the wagon we brought to make transporting Maggie & our beach stuff to and from the beach didn't do much good. Still, we had a great time! Picture overload commence.

Day 1: Sun, 10/1/17: Allie's first glimpse at the beach! Jake ran down the steps while I was taking this picture and immediately started playing in the sand, he loved it! We did have to come back to this spot later b/c he left a toy buried in the sand. Fortunately, someone uncovered it and set it on the stairs for us. :)

They all loved their first steps into the ocean! I have the cutest video. I didn't even get Will's pic, he was off into the ocean with his friends pretty much immediately.

Maggie loved the ocean! The waves were a little rough and the current strong the week we were there (b/c all the hurricanes) but she kept inching toward that water all week no matter how much I pulled her back. I told her she was drawn to the water like Moana. :)

Our first nigh we all grilled out and had a bonfire on the beach complete with chairs, tiki torches and s'mores, it was so cool! We didn't just start a fire on the beach, one of the ladies in our group found a company that does it. Maggie ate so many s'mores and plain marshmallows, several of the kids were off crab hunting. It was such a good time until it started raining cutting our time a little short, but was still super fun.

Day 2: Mon, 10/2/17. Another beautiful day at the beach. Guys playing catch, kids digging holes, ladies chatting it up. Great times.

 Too. Much. Cuteness.

Some families in the group went out to eat, but our condo decided to have our spaghetti night so we'd have time to eat leftovers throughout the week. Then we went to an ice cream shop nearby, The Creamery, very popular place and ran into Daniel's cousin and her family! It was so cool. Daniel's aunt told me at Granny's party Saturday that Jennifer & Gordon were at the beach near us, but I never thought we'd run into them! Small world. :)
