Maggie using a walker!

I could also title this post, "Happy Birthday Mom" because Maggie took her first unassisted steps in a walker on my mom's birthday- April 21st.
It was a Tuesday and only our second week here at Health in Motion. Maggie had been practicing standing in a walker since day two and walking while Natan held onto her legs. Well, he Tuesday he had her walk the length of the mat unassisted- he held the walker just a little to help control it- but she was leaning on the handles and walking!
This is HUGE!!! I was not expecting it at all and held back tears as long as I could so I wouldn't distract or scare her, but the minute she reached me and held out her hands to me, I couldn't hold it any longer. I was crying and had to explain to her what happy tears are!! I'm so proud of my Maggie and excited for her and what she may be able to do before we head home home. :)

Sisters

I love these two sweet girls and am glad they have each other. I hope as they grow up, they develop a very close relationship and each treasure the other. I can already see a budding little relationship; Maggie just adores her baby sister and Allie already looks up to Maggie in little ways. A lot of times when Maggie laughs and Allie's nearby, she looks up and starts laughing too. It's so precious. Here's some pics of my gorgeous girls!

I'm so blessed to be your mommy! I love you sweet girls!! :)

Baby Allie- 8 months

Aaaand another month bites the dust for my little sweet pea. Alana Kathryn, such a pretty name. I wonder if I'll call you Alana much as you get older. Of course, I don't know call you Allie that much either. I'm always prone to call my babies little nicknames and stick for awhile. Only time will tell I suppose! I say all this as a distraction from the fact you're another month older and I always feel it necessary to type that. Over and over and over again. At least I'm consistent right? :) So what have you been up to this month little sweet pea baby girl? Read below (when you're old enough) to find out!

  • You are pushing up some and have gotten on your knees and rocked a couple times, so crawling could be soon
  • You're babbling is sounding more and more like sounds, still lots of b's in there...I'm working on m's :) But you're more in conversational mode now- looking at us, responding, sometimes almost saying "hey, look at me I have important things to say pffftbbbpppth"
  • Did I mention you've been teething? You started before we left, but you're definitely working on some teeth here Toronto, drooling and chewing like crazy, clearly uncomfortable at times. Nothing to show for it yet
  • Also, you haven't been sleeping as well here (Toronto). This could be the climate/altitude change or not being in your own bed or teeth or a combination. I don't know, but I'm not a fan of my sleeping 10-12 hours through the night baby waking up now.
  • Same with naps- you're mostly napping on our drive to and from therapy. Even when we're "home" you don't care for napping in the pack-n-play. I miss your bed...
  • You eat about every 4 hours, morning and bedtime meals include a cereal and fruit/veggie feeding
  • Wearing 3-6 month clothes and size 1 diapers
  • Despite some of our teething/sleeping troubles, I still get so many compliments on what a sweet, quiet, doll baby you are!
  • You really are a very sweet, happy, smiley laid back baby- but teething hurts!!
I love how you're crossing your little feet now! So cute

I love you my sweet Allie!! I so enjoy learning about you, watching you grow and seeing that little personality take shape. I'm so blessed to be your mommy.
