I cannot believe I no longer have a two-year-old. My days of "terrible twos" are over. Though I don't think yours were that bad. Don't get me wrong, you've had your moments. Some tantrums, meltdowns, plenty of "no's" but we're able to take it all in stride because we've been there, we know this passes. Like I've said before, honestly most the time it's so cute, I have to force myself to be serious and discipline you so as to be consistent, ha! I'm sure some of this is me holding on to your littleness just a little bit longer. It goes by so fast one can hardly stand it. And you're my baby, my last one. So never again will I have a two-year-old roam these halls, at least not one that belongs to me, with the laughter and the attitude that comes with it. "Allie-tude" as my aunt Cheri lovingly refers to you. Alright, I'll cut back on the drama a little.
I know people think I'm crazy but I love 2 & 3. They're probably my favorite ages. I mean, I really love all of them until about 6 or 7 when some of that growing up attitude comes in and the toddler cuteness that makes up for the attitude (like with 2's & 3's) has worn off for the most part. Nothing beats those tiny little bodies with those chubby little legs and that cute little voice that makes even a "no" the most adorable thing ever. I just love my babies. And they're growing up so fast. Anyway, a little about Allie at 3 yrs old:
- You are still not 100% potty-trained. I cannot go into my level of frustration with this because you caught on so quickly then somewhere along the way just decided you do not want to poop in the potty, but rather in your pants, hidden somewhere. You're great with pee though and even stay dry during naptime.
- Your little "Allie-tude" is so cute. You'll cross your little arms, give these faces, roll your eyes. I mean you got it down. Grandma always told me I gave looks to kill when I was really little so you get it honestly. Now she'll tell you to give her the eyes and you will. It's hilarious. Because you're not my first ;)
- You are really smart. Your vocabulary, memory and comprehension are pretty high. And I have unbiased sources to confirm this. :) You still have that cute little toddler speech though. Like "Paw trol" for Paw Patrol and "bacaroni" for macaroni and "brella" for umbrella. You also say "Super Woman" for "Wonder Woman" and it drives daddy a little crazy.
- You would live on cereal and chips if I let you. And some days I just let you have cereal for breakfast and lunch. #momfail
- You looove Paw Patrol, Bubble Guppies, Princesses (especially Frozen aka "wozen" & Anna), My Little Pony and Barbies- both the toys and cartoons.
- You genuinely like media- from shows mentioned above to watching Will play Minecraft (sort of) to "playing" abcmouse.com on Maggie's tablet. It bothers me a little, but with 3 older siblings, there's only so much I can keep you from.
- Your smile and laugh and dimple are so sweet. You really thrown on that "pwease pwease pwease" heavy when you want something. It's just adorable.
- There are so many cute and sweet things about you. Like earlier this year when you kept walking around with my bible saying "Jesus in your heart." I think I could've exploded.
- You recently moved into Maggie's room and love having a big girl bed.
- The past few weeks you have enjoyed walking around in a swimsuit. Just because.
I love you so much sweet pea baby girl!! No matter how old you get, you'll always be my baby. Here's how we spent your 3rd birthday:
This morning you shared coffee cake with mommy and watched princess videos. Then had your favorite breakfast: cereal. Watched a little Paw Patrol then played in the rain with daddy.
Aunt Rosi sent you a present in the mail so you opened that and cards from Granny & G with money!
After naptime, we got ready to take you out. All day long you said you wanted cake & candles, so I picked up a large cupcake at the grocery store. You'll have a homemade cake for your and Maggie's party in a couple weeks. We ate dinner at Panera b/c you requested bacaroni and there's is the best.
Then you picked out a Paw Patrol movie & toy set at Target- from us and some of your bday money. Then home for cake and opening presents! You were soooo excited about your Paw Patrol presents.
The cake was a disappointment. The cake itself was ok, but the icing was awful- you kids hardly ate any of it. We almost got donuts 'cause you love them and I wish we had, but you kept asking for cake & candles, so we went with it. Either way, we can make up for that at your party. This was a great birthday for our special 3-year-old girl and I'm so glad to be your mom and celebrate this day with you. Happy 3rd birthday sweet Alana!!!
