The Show Me State

Happy April! Last weekend my mom and I traveled up to St. Louis to help my cousin, Rachel with her nursery and to visit family. I'm a little behind because we've just been busy since arriving home. Rachel is pregnant with her third child but is having a boy this time. She decided to do a monkey nursery theme and since I'm well acquainted with monkies (my son being one) I offerred to help. Initially this was just a random thought "oh, I'd love to help decorate a monkey room!" but she was all about it and since I don't have to request off work, I agreed to make the treck. A friend of Rachel's planned to throw a shower so they moved it to the weekend we could come up. My mom wanted to go as well so we split driving and gas, which made the trip possible-- I doubt I would make that long drive alone with two kids.
We had dinner with my uncle Jimmy, aunt Karen, Katie, Landon and Danny (sadly I forgot my camera in the rush to get out the door and don't have any pictures of this), lunch with my grandparents and aunt Cheri, breakfast with my cousin Matt and my aunt Patti spent some time with us at Rachel's (her daughter). We missed a few family members, but got to as many as we could!
We also drove to see my cousin, Kevin, who recently injured himself on the job and is healing from collarbone surgery, a fractured cheekbone and has lost vision in one eye. Please say prayers for him- he's handling this very well now- but may have some difficult days ahead.
We had a great time- everyone was excited to see how the kids have grown- my aunt Rose use to work with Early Intervention so she took a look at Maggie and thinks she'll do great with therapy. Daniel sure did miss us (we missed him as well) and is happy to have us back home.
