The Nashville Soccer Club (NSC) is coming to our town next March! Daniel is so excited. This weekend, however, the ICC tournament chose Nashville as their venue. Daniel got tickets awhile back and has been stoked about this day. We headed downtown, found some parking and walked to the stadium.
I was looking forward to it by this point as well, but unfortunately, I could've had a better time. I couldn't bring my purse in so I had to go wait in line and pay for a locker before heading back in to watch the game. We already had one goal when I got there. I sat down for a few minutes before getting up for drinks. The kids were dying of thirst and Daniel told them we couldn't get up for drinks until I got there. I sat back down and watched the game for a few minutes at a time between helping the kids with their drinks and keeping Jake & Allie from jumping around and hurting themselves. Then Daniel got up at the half for more drinks (it was really hot, we were in direct sunlight). I already knew I was going to leave a few mins early so I could beat the lines to get my purse so when they called a cooling break for the players about 8-10 mins before end, we went ahead and left. On our walk back to the car I could see the scoreboard and we got another goal.
All in all, it was a neat experience and Daniel was so excited about having professional soccer in Nashville and seeing the game with his family that I was happy. But I don't think I personally got my money's worth, loll. I look forward to other games where I'll be better prepared and maybe we don't take all the kids. :)

Independence Day
We spent the weekend with my family for Caleb's grad party and as everyone was heading home on the 4th, we accepted a pool/cookout invitation from friends. We had a great time and even shot fireworks at the end!
Great day with great friends, wish we could do this every weekend! No pics of the fireworks apparently. It was probably too dark anyway. :) Happy 4th of July!

Caleb's Graduation
My oldest nephew, Caleb, graduated from high school in May. How is this possible? How did he grow up so fast? And how am I old enough to have a college-aged nephew? Goes to show, yet again, how fleeting time is. Before I know it mine will be grown and moving out. Ah! I can't even think about that. Even though some days they drive me crazy, I'll miss them so much.
Anyway, this is about Caleb. We went to his graduation back in May and watched him walk across the stage to get that diploma. Such a momentous occasion and milestone. The graduation was the longest one ever mostly because the director of the school got on stage and talked forever. My kids were so over it by the end. I didn't even get to grab a celebratory dinner with Caleb. But that's what this weekend was for! Caleb's graduation party! Family and friends gathered to celebrate our Caleb yesterday, July 1st. Of course, most of the Stl family stayed all weekend. We had a great time.
I helped out by making some dessert. Tracy loved the cookies and just died over the one that resembled Caleb. Everyone got a kick out of it. Except Caleb. I also made the cake balls per his request.
It would seem I didn't take very many pictures. I guess I was enjoying the moment. The party was fun, the food was good and it was nice visiting with family. Happy Graduation Caleb!
