Caribbean Cruise - Day 1

Last year some friends of mine and I discussed taking a girls trip if for no other reason than several of the ladies in our group are celebrating their 40th birthdays this year. This is as good a reason as any for a trip! My friend, Ginny, started looking up cruises online then an agent contacted her with a great deal she couldn't pass up so she booked a room and invited us all to do so as well. I thought it was an amazing deal as well (seriously $400 for a 5 day cruise including taxes, fees, gratuity and an onboard credit). It's like they were paying us to take this trip, ha! Plus, I haven't been on a cruise in years, so I booked a room immediately as well.

We talked about who would share a room, etc. but several of the ladies had husbands who wanted to go so we changed it to a couples cruise. I must've forgot about this part b/c I was convinced it would end up being just us ladies. But no one else ended up reserving a room so Ginny asked her husband to go. So I asked Daniel to join me and fortunately was able to get my mom and sis-in-law to watch the kids. Now here we are, taking a trip with our good friends, Dan & Ginny and we had a blast!!

The Cruise dates were February 4-9 leaving from New Orleans sailing to Cozumel & Progreso. I dropped off the kids with my parents Friday afternoon then we loaded up with Dan & Ginny to start our drive- knowing we would get a hotel in Tuscaloosa and make the rest of the drive Saturday morning. The first pics I took were us arriving in New Orleans then getting on the boat!

Saturday, Feb 4th

We had lunch in the main buffet area before heading to our rooms. I thought we had inside cabins because of the great price, but we had oceanview rooms! And we were at the front of the boat with access to the front deck two doors down from our cabins that hardly anyone ever used. So we basically had this huge private deck! It was awesome.

Then we sat on deck as we set sail until it was time to get ready for dinner. We had a booth, just the 4 of us, I loved it! I seriously jumped a little in excitement when we saw our table. Look, I'm a fan of booths and like that it was just the the four of us at our table. Great start to the trip. :)
