The weather was cloudy, but a very comfortable temperature, so we decided to visit the zoo. Will, of course, was very happy with this decision. We practically had the place to ourselves, which was nice, because the last time we went was for the Trails of Africa grand-opening and it was Crow.ded. We saw the elephants and rhinos from a distance but the real treat was seeing the new royal family- our lioness had 5 cubs- and we got to see them! I heard some photographers complaining they had been out twice and not yet able to photograph the cubs, so I just pretended their viewing was a special treat for Maggie’s birthday! We finished walking around and seeing the other animals, had a little snack and headed home for nap time.
I knew Yogurt Mountain was in the plans for dessert because Maggie has a little sweet tooth (the gene we KNOW I passed to the kids) and she insists on bites when we go there. We also decided to eat Olive Garden for dinner, which is where we celebrated my birthday as well. While there, Will knocked over my water, Maggie nearly choked (thank God I knew what to do and Daniel was there to tell me, hit harder!) and Daniel almost spilled Will’s chocolate milk. Quite the evening! I took pictures with my phone but don’t have them uploaded yet, so I’ll add later. Happy 1st birthday to you Maggie!! Our sweet baby girl, we love you so much!
